Muses 1, Writer 0

I have discovered that like toast always falls butter side down, my best (and sometimes my ONLY) writing inspiration comes to me when I am either a) in the shower or b) almost asleep. In other words, the two times when it's really inconvenient for me to grab a notebook or a computer and start writing. And by inspiration, I don't mean 'Oh, hey, that's a good idea! I should use that sometimes!'. I mean, composing long strains on dialogue and prose in my head. *headdesk* In other news, the muses hate me.

Also, Gojyo is being strangely reluctant to have sex for me. *pokes him dubiously* I think I've worked past that odd bit of blockage, but still. It's disturbing. Gojyo is usually the one character I can count on to give me plentiful sex scenes. It feels like the natural balance of my world has been upset. (And I'm totally using this icon to lure my Gojyo Sex Muse back into my loving arms. Come back to me, sweetheart!)

Speaking of sex scenes, I amused myself today when I began seriously considering whether or not I wanted to add one to my current fic. I thought about it intently for about three seconds before bursting into laughing and yelling 'DUH!' out loud. I'm even more of a whore for porn than I realized.

And yet, somehow, in spite of all this I have managed to write over two thousand words today. Huh.

Also, in the spirit of babbling about my writing, a meme! Ask me why I gave any of my fics the title I did, and I shall illuminate!

I also often get real inspiration just before falling asleep. I've learned to repeat it over and over and over until I actually do fall asleep so sometimes something still lingers in the morning. Unfortunately, more often not :P Another moment I often get inspired is when driving the car (especially when I have no music on and I'm alone), like earlier today. Now I don't even remember what I was inspired about :-/ So yeah, I know the feeling and it's no fun *shakes head*

*sighs* I knew I couldn't be the only one. Sneaky bastards, those muses. I generally just get up and turn the light on and write down whatever my idea is, because I know I won't remember it in the morning. *facepalms* And I totally hear you on getting ideas in the car. I have to wait until I hit a red light, and then I dive for the notebook in my purse. XD I'm sure other drivers that are stopped beside me end up staring at the crazy lady tearing her purse apart and writing furiously and wonder if I've lost my mind, but oh well!
