cicer: (But I am le tired)
New School (tm) is going well! Classes are good! People are nice! ...I don't actually have a whole lot to say beyond that. Been busy, but things are good, so that's great.

Things of note:

  • I have an Inksome! Because I am a sucker for new shiny things and I love a good bandwagon. If you have an Inksome, drop me a line so I can properly stalk friend you!

  • I just reread volumes one and two of Vassalord! I still want to write up a post about how this series hits all my kinks buttons, including ones I did not know I had, and how I will die if volume three doesn't come out soon, plus all my crazy theories that will surely be Jossed. I want to do this. I will do this. Pester me if I don't do this!

  • I am thinking about setting up a filter so I can post a few bits of my original fiction. I would probably control it pretty tightly, since this is stuff I might want to get published someday, but I would really love it if some of you would read it and give me some honest, constructive criticism. Would anyone be interested in seeing my original stuff? Anyone at all?

  • I have ordered Saiyuki Reload 9 and One Thousand and One Nights volume 6, but sadly they are being held hostage at my parents' house, since I didn't want to go through the rigamarole of trying to get UPS to bring the packages to my P.O. box here at the campus. Woe. I waaaant them.

  • As far as my new years resolutions are going...not well. I'm probably doing best with the 'eating healthier' thing, since the New School (tm) has conveneint salad bars and fruit bars and whatnot. Also, while I haven't been doing any 'official' exercise, I have been walking a lot, by necessity, since the new campus kind of shuns things like putting the dorms close to the classrooms. Also, the stairs. So many stairs. I have classes on the second and third floors of the classroom buildings, which means I have to walk downstairs from my dorm, walk walk walk walk walk over to the classroom buildings, and take the Neverending Flight of Stairs (Of Doom), which feels like something out of an M.C. Escher drawing. Bawww. I hate stairs. But I'm probably burning calories, so that's good. The 'write more' resolution is, of course, not going very well. I WILL DO BETTER. Promise. New plan: try to get back in the habit of writing stuff for [livejournal.com profile] saiyuki_time. Yes.

  • My cell phone has gone wonky. It rings fine, but when I pick it up or try to dial somebody, I can't hear anything. The speakerphone still works, but otherwise, nada. Arg. Am currently recharging the battery, and then I'll take it out for a while. I hope it's not busted.
