Oof, classes. Ever the glutton for punishment, I decided to fill the time between finishing college (last December) and starting grad school (this September) with getting a TESOL/TEFL certification. Evidently most people do the program over the course of four quarters/1 year, but I decided to do it in half that, because why not. Ha...ha? The things I do to myself.

Seriously, though, I can't complain. The classes are extremely interesting, and I've gotten to do a lot of readings on different cultures, which is something that very much interests me. If I'd done a minor (or a double major) in college, I probably would have wanted to do it in sociology or cultural anthropology, so this is definitely up my alley. Also, when I finish the program, I'll be considered (generally!) qualified to teach English abroad, which of course would be an absolutely blast. So I'm having a good time.

I'm also working in fits and starts on my

help_japan fics, and hope to wrap them both up within the next week or two. I understand that all together

help_japan raised over $45,000 which is just...utterly awesome. It's one of those things that makes me hugely proud of fandom in general. We are a mighty force for good in the world! Kudos aplenty to everybody who bidded or donated. I hope they decide to do another full round of auctions, as I missed my chance to bid on the first one. I'm definitely gonna nab me some goodies the next time around.

Meanwhile, I've been wasting entirely too much of my time looking and lolarious videos on YouTube, so please allow me to suck you into the world of time-wasting videos as well! :D

Oh mercy. I've recently been re-watching the BBC miniseries of Pride & Prejudice...actually, I've been "re-watching" it about every other week. (So sue me. I love Colin Firth!) And then somebody linked me to this, and. Well. I laughed so hard I think I peed a little.

I relate to so many of this girl's sketches, it is not even funny. I also sincerely believe that the relatives of the insects I've killed WILL hunt me down and take vengeance for their fallen brethren. :(
