I know what you meme'd last summer

...Oh heck, please don't tell me it's already been over two weeks since I last posted. Goshdarnit, time needs to stop going so fast! Also, Higher Education needs to stop infringing the time I need for Important Things like perusing the internet and starting discussions about vital and profound matters like what sort of underwear Gojyo would wear in a particular AU I'm am fiddling with. I mean, these things are serious business, and yet I am stuck reading copious amounts of literature about extremely dull and pedantic matters. It's like the universe has no sense of priorities, really.
Oh, and happy belated Valentine's Day/Singles Awareness Day to all! I hope you all had a pleasant time with your loved ones if you celebrate, and an at-least-bearable time if you don't. I didn't do much myself, though I did treat myself to pizza and chocolate so it definitely qualified as a Good Night. Mm, pizza.
To follow up on stuff I mentioned a couple posts ago (because I know you are all desperately interested in my daily life) I am continuing my noble attempts at gardening. It's going about as well as it always doe, which is to say not well at all. Oh well. Fiddling around in the dirt is fun anyway, even if I do have a black thumb. Also, I have been exercising on a fairly regular basis! I have not perished yet, which is a great surprise to me, but a pleasant one. I walked ten days in the last four weeks. I estimate I've walked a little over twenty miles total. I'm no triathlete, granted, but I think that's not too shabby. I'll try and keep it up.
And now, a meme snagged from
lady_ganesh!
List seven habits/quirks/facts about yourself.
Tag seven people to do the same.
Do not tag the person who tagged you or say that you tag "whoever wants to do it" OR ELSE YOU FAIL.
1. I cannot bear to touch or otherwise handle raw meat. I like to eat meat on occasion, but someone else usually has to prepare it for me. I have gotten myself to the point where I can cook up a couple things (like lean ground turkey and cube steaks) but I can only do that if I don't actually have to touch the meat with my bare hands. Making hamburger patties and stuff like that is totally out of the question. Eeeew, meat...
2. I have a system of organizing my books that is totally organic, but probably does not make any sense to anyone but me. There's no real structure to it: I don't alphabetize or sort by subject or anything. But there are, nevertheless, definite and inexplicable Rules about where each book goes. It's very weird.
3. I do, however, alphabetize all my DVDs and CDs. But my method of organizing computer games and software is like my book-organizing system: totally weird and seemingly random.
4. I have an absolutely terrible time remembering names and faces. I'm a little better with names, and can usually remember them after I've been told a person's name several times, but I'm hilariously awful at remembering faces. Even if I've been introduced to a person and spoken with them several times, I find it almost impossible to conjure up an image of their face, and sometimes don't recognize them if I pass them on the street. I actually think I might have a mild form of prosopagnosia.
5. Even though I have a terrible singing voice, I often sing out loud when I am alone. This is not a quirk, exactly; the quirk is that I often make up random nonsense songs about whatever it is I happen to be doing at the time. I am sure that I get this from my father, who did this all the time when I was growing up. And still does, come to think of it.
6. I walk very, very fast. I do not stroll, I do not meander. I full-on powerwalk, even when I'm just going into the kitchen for a glass of water. (I was not actually aware that I did this until relatively recently, when several family members commented upon it with obvious amusement.) I tend to get very annoyed when I am stuck behind someone who is walking slowly on a narrow sidewalk, and will try to shimmy past them so I can continue my stride.
7. I have super-cold hands and feet. My nose and ears also tend to get very cold, especially when I'm outside. Bad circulation, I has it.
I am not tagging anyone, because meme rules are not the boss of me. Do it if you want!
And because I am strangely tempted to take pictures, another meme: tell me something (or a couple somethings) that you would like me to take a picture of and I will post it to my journal!
...Aaaand because I did this one the last time I did the picture meme, plus I need more things to force me to post more frequently than once-a-fortnight, one last meme!
1) Make a list of 15 characters first, and keep it to yourself for the moment. (That way you're not leading the questions asked to fit the characters.)
2) Ask your flist to post questions in the comments. For example: "4, 6, 12 & 15 are starting a band together, what is their name and what kind of music do they play? Also, who's the lead singer, and what instruments do the others play?"
3) After your flist has asked enough questions, round them up and answer them using the 15 characters you selected beforehand, and then post them.
My list is made, now give me questions!
ETA: Almost forgot.
rheasilvia and
toscas_kiss, I got your cards in the mail! Thank you, they're lovely!

Date: 2008-02-17 08:41 am (UTC)Anyway ~_^ I want to see a picture of your favorite everyday shoes. So, not the shoes you wear once every leap year, but a pair you wear a few times a month, at the least.
And...hmm... 4, 9, 12 and 14 are on a roadtrip. Where are they going, who is driving and how do they decide which music to play? Bonus for which music is playing. :D

Date: 2008-02-17 09:14 am (UTC)Aha, but they say cold hands is hot love ;) I say this because I've been told this lots of times myself.
Pictures : of your wardrobe please (and if I get to request more, of any pets you may have and of your favourite means of transport).
Question about characters : if 1 and 15 were family, what would their relation be (brothers, parent and child, lovers, ...)
*hugs*
