Ahaha. If I could never have another three days like the last three, that would be nice. I'm beginning to think I've pissed off some minor diety. One disaster after another, it seems. Arg.
The 10 Interesting/Unusual Fact About You meme that's spreading like fire. I was tagged by two or three different people, and now I can't remember who. Um. If you haven't done this yet and want to, then consider yourself tagged! I can't remember who hasn't done it yet...
Each player of this game starts off with 10 weird things/habits/little known facts about yourself. People who get tagged need to write a blog of their own 10 weird habits/things/little known facts as well as state this rule clearly. At the end you need to choose 10 people to be tagged and list their names. No tagbacks.
1. I am freakishly flexible, especially in the hip area. I can put both legs behind my head at the same time. It scares the people in my yoga class, which is pretty funny. The first time I took a yoga class, I showed the instructor how I could do that, and she nearly fell over with shock. I was young at the time, and I don't think I quite understood that most people's bodies can't bend that way.
2. I don't wear jewelery, ever. The sensation of it against my skin really bothers me. By the same token, I always have my hair tied back tightly away from my face and only wear clothes that don't have too many buttons/ties/clasps whatever that would get tangled around me. I like to feel FREE AND NATURAL, and would probably go naked if it were socially acceptable.
3. I have absolutely zero spatial sense. It's pathetic. I am possessed of a horrible sense of direction, and were it not for MapQuest.com, I would get lost going to the bathroom. Interestingly, I also seem to have problems judging the relative distance of objects to myself. I walk into walls and trip over things all the time because I just don't 'see' or sense them there.
4. I'm a really late sleeper. I mean, really late. It doesn't matter when I go to bed, I absolutely hate having to get up before noon. I can easily sleep in till two in the afternoon if nobody wakes me up. I don't actually stay up that late, though. I just like being able to get 10-12 hours of sleep, because I'm lazy.
5. I love milk, but it has to be really cold. I'm sure I got this from my father, who guzzles milk like, well, water, and has pushed it on me since I was born. He likes to put milk in the freezer to make it cold, but I put ice cubes in my milk. Most people find very strange, or frankly disgusting.
6. I went to seven different schools during my K-12 (kindergarten through twelfth grade) education. I had issues related to school, and had health and psychological problems in my later years of school which led to a lot of switching around.
7. I have an extremely sensitive sense of smell. I cannot wear perfume at all, as it bothers me way too much. I can't use air fresheners, scented candles, incense, etc, because the smell just overpowers me. Weird smells sometimes make me sick, too. I cannot walk near the butcher section of the grocery store without getting dizzy because the smell of meat makes me physically ill.
8. Speaking of that! I also have a terribly weak stomach. I can make myself ill just by thinking about something gross, and seeing/smelling yucky things often makes me gag/dry heave. I'm a masochist, though. Friends who know me always say, "I won't tell you the rest of this story because it'll make you sick" or "Don't look at this website, you'll get grossed out". I always insist they show me the website or tell me the story though, and it always does make me sick. I never learn.
9. I am slightly dyslexic, I think. It's never been diagnosed, but I often write or type things in mixed up ways, like messing up 'saw' and 'was' and confusing p's and b's. In particular, I can never spell 'republican' right on the first try and never could, even as a child. This may be why I'm a registered Democrat!
10. When I was a child I had upwards of thirty stuffed animals. All had names and special friends among the other stuffed animals. I made little cliques and families out of them. Then I arranged them in predetermined order around my bed at night to protect me from scary nighttime monsters. I was sort of obsessive about them, now that I think back on it. A friend and I once even made up a song about my stuffed animals, which I refuse to share with anyone because we didn't seem to understand the concept or rhythm or rhyme at the time.
