cicerSo, I just found out that FUNimation is releasing Dragonball Z, completely uncut.
I picked up an issue of Anime Invasion at the bookstore today on a whim, and discovered the big news. EEEEE!! Why did no one tell me about this?! *ecstatic glee* This is awesome like a very awesome thing. FUNi, I take back everything nasty I ever said about you. Mostly. Well, I would have if the Anime Invasion article hadn't reminded me about that one episode in the censored dub where Nappa blew up some planes and Yamcha exclaimed "I can see their parachutes! They're okay!" That was lame, dude.
But I'm glad you're making amends for it. No more foamy water for Master Roshi! No more fake swimming trunks for poor naked little Gohan! YAY!
Also, I saw The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen last night. Naturally, I have to inflict my opinions about it upon all of you.
Wow. That was a surprisingly good movie. I actually didn't expect to like it. I thought the special effects would be overdone and lame, and the acting was rumored to be lousy, but it was a surprisingly solid and entertaining movie. And the special effects were fairly restrained, at least compared to some other movies. (Yes, Van Helsing, I'm looking at you.) Sean Connery is in it anyway, so it couldn't have been too bad. God, that voice! But the other actors were pretty good too. Stuart Townsend's performance actually didn't suck, which is probably the nicest thing I've ever been able to truthfully say about his acting abilities. Overall, an amusing movie, much better than I'd expected. Good job, 20th Century Fox!
And now, I go to bed. 'Nite. :)
