cicer: (But I am le tired)

  • I bought books! I got Neil Gaiman's The Graveyard Book, Laurie Halse Anderson's Wintergirls, and other assorted titles that looked appealing. And I stayed up until two in the morning reading Wintergirl because it was so amazing I couldn't bear to put it down and wait until morning to finish it. It made me realize that I haven't been that hooked by a book in quite some time. I think I need to read more. I've been so busy with school that I haven't taken the time to read for pleasure much over the last few months. I have resolved to change this!

  • I bought a humidifer! My dorm room is now like a tropical paradise! Sort of. The air is nice and moist, anyway, and my nosebleeds have stopped. Hurrah!

  • The term is almost over. Aaaaaalmost. I have...two papers to write, one final, and a writing portfolio to assemble. And then I'm done. I seriously, seriously cannot wait. I am super burned-out.

  • ...Is it Easter this Sunday? It's Easter this Sunday. I completely forgot about the holiday. Oops. Will need to redo my plans for the weekend to account for stuff being closed.

  • I am going to try to finish last years NaNoWriMo novel this month and edit it next month. I have no idea how much progress I will make before I keel over under the weight of trying to deal with an entire manuscript. I am frightened.

And a poem for (Inter)National Poetry Month!

Somebody Has To by Shel Silverstein

Somebody has to go polish the stars,
They're looking a little bit dull.
Somebody has to go polish the stars,
For the eagles and starlings and gulls
Have all been complaining they're tarnished and worn,
They say they want new ones we cannot afford.
So please get your rags
And your polishing jars,
Somebody has to go polish the stars.
