Life update

I've been doing yoga again this summer. I always miss it during the school year, but I just never have time to keep up with it. I have the same teacher I've had for the past two summers, and I love her. She does such a high-impact workout! I get really sweaty and sore, but it feels so good. Also, during today's class, I broke my personal record for holding the Crow pose, which was quite exciting. Frankly, I just try not to fall over and crack my head when I attempt that pose, so it's very reassuring to find that I seem to be getting good enough to prevent any fatal injuries.

Today I impulsively got a haircut after my yoga class. It's getting so hot here, and I just wanted to lop off a bunch of length, so I got a full four inches cut off. My hair is now in a cute little bob that's slightly below chin length, and I love it. I feel freeeee!

Gosh, I love summer. It's so great to have so much free time. Since I have more time in the evenings and afternoons, I've been on a major cooking kick lately. For the last ten days or so I've made a homecooked meal almost every night. Needless to say, this may be a first for me. My aunt recently sent me a cookbook, so I've been trying recipes from that. I've made vegetarian chili, tortilla soup, vegetarian lasagna, fettuccine alfredo, spaghetti with baked chicken, and baked macaroni and cheese. Some of the recipes didn't work out perfectly, and I've discovered that milk-based sauces are really hard to make. Still, it's been fun just to attempt new things.

Anyway, tomorrow I'll be heading out of town. My aunt passed away about two or three weeks ago, so there will be a memorial service and my mother and I will be flying out for it. I won't be back until July 3rd, so all of you take care of yourselves and have a great week! Hopefully, I'll have some fic to post when I get back. See you!
