This has been a pretty good year for me. There was some angst, but also a whole lot of self-discovery and trying of new things. I was definitely blessed with all the good things in life, like financial security, the health of my loved ones, and general happiness and contentment. There's very, very little that was lacking in my life in 2006, and even less that I could wish for in the new year. So I feel very lucky and hope 2007 is just as nice! May all of you be blessed in the new year! I hope all your dreams and plans come to fruition, and you and your loved ones are happy and safe.
Now, it's time for the total number of words I've written this year! After I passed the 100,000 word mark last year, I decided I wanted to try and double that in 2006. Somehow, incredibly, I managed it. NaNoWriMo gave me the boost I needed, and I wrote a lot over the spring and summer. The final total for this year is 210,938 words. Just over half of that still hasn't seen the light of day. My NaNoNovel is about 80k words, and another 50k or so is unfinished/in-progress fanfiction projects. Still, I'm quite happy with what I did and hope to equal or surpass it next year.
I hope all of you who pursue creative projects (be they writing, drawing, or anything else) have had muses who were kind to you this year, as mine were! Best of luck for all your endeavors in the New Year! It's been an absolute pleasure and honor to know so many great and talented people, and I look forward to continuing the friendships I've made over the last year, as well as making new ones!
