Flu and recs

Am currently down with the Death Flu. Horribly nauseated, achy, and feverish. Blah. I felt so ill on Wednesday that I actually had to call my mother and have her pick me up at work because I thought I was going to pass out. Of course, lacking any sense of my personal limits and being possessed of massive amounts of Guilty Work Ethic, I wanted to stay, but my coworkers made me go home. *facepalms*

So I've been rather absent for the last few days, not doing much more than drinking tea and sleeping. Apologies if I haven't reviewed or responded to something that I should have. Chances are I saw it (because LJ is my sweet, sweet crack), loved it, and just neglected to give feedback. As an apology, here are some recs. XD

Saiyuki


Living Just Like This by harukami. This is both heinously adorable and painfully real. I fully believe that this is exaclty what will happen, post-series. They'll be exactly the same.

No Difference by harukami. Haru's fic is often like a kick in the stomach. But in the good way. Also, ow. The ikkou angst so well. *sobs*

Wild Cherries by louiselux. I'm sorry, are you expecting a coherent response to this? Ajldsgjhkdfh. My brain is dead. louiselux writes the best pr0n ever.

Waiting for the Light by fuzipenguin. Oh, lord. This is creepy, and disturbing, and still totally right, in a completely wrong way. Nii and Goku and mindgames. Between this fic and Teeth, I now have legions of Ikkou-in-Nii's-lab plotbunnies marching through my mind.

Red As by springgreen. The narration in this is lovely. I love how the author presents Hakkai's turmoil. And Gojyo's responses are very much in-character. Lovely.


Miscellaneous Fic and Art

Underneath the Underneath by ann89103. Kakashi/Iruka is my secret Naruto OTP, and I love ann89103's take on their relationship.

The Horse's Mouth by devikun. Jin. Mugen. Furious, angry, completely ungraceful sex. So utterly in-character.

Stunning Schuldig/Yohji picture by cmda_alexandra. Mmm! So pretty. I love the background.

Dance Fever by lizardspots. An odd bit of Harry Potter art that is really, really hot. I think I can safely blame Saiyuki for killing my incest squick.

Chiaroscuro by smut_invictus. Xe always kills me with her Vejiita fic. God. It's not quite angst, but it's most definitely despair, and it's painful, because you can feel the emotion in this fic. It aches. Beautiful writing.


Random

Everyone gets high at CFUD. God, I love this. *dies* And we all saw Hakkai enjoying the special incense too, right? Right.

emungere and rheasilver have ideas for an excellent Saiyuki AU fic. I am pimping this out frantically in the hopes that someone will write it. Please? I need to see this!
