I hardly ever do actual composing on the computer. I like to write in a notebook while I'm lying in bed at night. So I usually end up transcribing my writing a few days later, and by that time I've forgotten the particulars of what I wrote. I swear, I have the memory of a goldfish.
Reviewing my own writing is always a bizarre experience for me. I usually end up thinking oh god this writing is so bad, I must now crawl under a rock and DIE FROM SHAME. Occasionally, I end up thinking, hey, I like this bit. Must do more writing like this!. Frequently, I end up thinking, OMG this gives me a baddirtywrong plotbunny for another fic.
*facepalms* Times like this it really occurs to me what an odd thing it is, to write.
