I heartily agree. Koumyou is such an un-tapped character in saiyuki fanfiction. He's the one who is really responsible for who Sanzo became - both by how he impacted Sanzo in life, and in death. Which is why he's so (albeit indirectly) important to the entire series. But more than that, Koumyou is such a fascinating character - seemingly frail yet powerful, and with a wicked sense of humor hidden under a mild, almost serene exterior. Ah, but I digress. LOL :)
